Dharmashastra National Law University, Jabalpur, was established in 2018 as the second National Law University in Madhya Pradesh after NLIU, Bhopal. Dharmashastra National Law University-Student Law Journal (DNLU-SLJ) is a peer-reviewed, student-run academic journal with the mission of disseminating high-calibre research on law and legal studies from all angles, including comparative, global, and transdisciplinary views. As a flagship initiative of Dharmashastra National Law University, Jabalpur (DNLU), the journal was conceptualised to provide a peculiar platform for the expression of opinions, thoughts, and views of the student fraternity through publications in the forms of scholarly articles, research papers, book reviews, and case studies. The journal has the Honā€™ble Chief Justice of Madhya Pradesh High Court as ā€œPatron-in-Chiefā€ and the Honā€™ble Vice Chancellor Sir, Prof. Manoj Sinha as Patron. Moreover, the Advisory Board of the Journal has an esteemed panel of Prof. Richard Albert, Prof. Yaniv Roznai, Prof. Prabhakar Singh, Mr. Abhijit Das, and Mr. Ajar Rab amongst others.

About Online Certificate Course on Advanced Legal Research and Writing

The Student Law Journal is pleased to announce a specialised Certificate Course on Legal Research and Writing. This Certificate Course offers a unique opportunity to delve into the intricacies of Technology Law, IPR, and International Trade Law. This course aims to enhance the legal research and writing skills of law students, legal practitioners, and academicians, alike. The course is divided into three modules, comprising contemporary legal fields, focusing on the dynamics of the intersection of Technology Law and Competition Law, Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and Artificial Intelligence (AI), and International Trade Law. It will provide insights to the participants on the interplay between these legal disciplines, equipping them with advanced research methodologies and writing techniques. We have designed the modules to facilitate learning from experienced professionals and practitioners in these fields of law. Moreover, the course intends to enhance participation, through interactive question and answer sessions at the end of each module, and assignments at the end of the course.

Module 2: IPR and the challenges posed by Artificial Intelligence

  • An overview of the dynamic relationship between Intellectual Property and AI
  • Patents, Copyrights, and Trademarks in AI innovations
  • Research on legal and ethical issues in AI and IPR
  • Writing on the recent developments in the field

Module 3: International Trade Law

Topics Covered:

  • Intricacies of International Trade Law and Foreign Policy
  • WTO and Bilateral/Multilateral Trade Agreements
  • Research on foreign trade policies and the role of domestic laws
  • Legal Writing on the recent trends in the global trade regime
